This thread has been created to address the more advanced features of eFamilyTools (https://efamilytools.com) which require a paid license. Many of you have found our calculations to be useful in your case, but would like to know more about certain aspects of the software which require a license. The following are some of the features that require a license to properly calculate or operate.
- Create more than 1 case - free and personal accounts allow one case. Attorney accounts allow 25 cases, and Attorney Pro accounts allow unlimited cases.
- Download a PDF child support worksheet - all paid accounts allow you to download a PDF child support worksheet.
- Create more child support worksheets - both free and personal accounts allow a single child support worksheet. Attorney accounts allow 1 child support worksheet to be created under each case. Attorney pro accounts allow unlimited child support worksheets. You do not need to be an attorney to purchase an attorney license. If you would like the additional features, you are more than welcome to upgrade your account at any time. When your license expires, you will still have a free license which will allow you access to your data.
- Enter child care expenses - child care expenses typically involve tax adjustments. Only paid accounts allow tax calculations. Therefore, you must have a paid account to utilize child care expenses.
- Multiple Families - the multiple family adjustment is one that is used when one or both parents have children outside of the subject child support case. All paid accounts allow this adjustment.
- Tax adjustments - tax adjustments take into account: child care tax credits, personal exemptions, child tax credits, credit phase outs, prorated tax credit application, and much more. Tax adjustments are enabled in all paid accounts.
- Interstate pay differentials - the interstate pay differential is use when one or both parents earn wages in another state. Current data from the Bureau of Labor and Statistics (http://www.bls.gov/home.htm)is used to calculate the differential adjustment factor. All paid accounts are able to utilize this adjustment.
- Download Microsoft Word (.doc) format worksheet - our Word (.doc) formatted forms are editable and are used to file using the Kansas judicial branch's eFlex (http://www.kscourts.org/Cases-and-Opinions/e-filing/default.asp) system. Only Attorney Pro accounts are able to download documents in (.doc) format.
This thread will be kept open to take any questions on our licensing and features.
