Child Support
« on: January 06, 2017, 12:09:31 AM »
The father of our son is in jail. Do I have to continue paying child support? I can't afford an attorney after paying for all expenses and child support coming out of my checks. We have 50/50 custody and I pay him child support. Thanks for any suggestions.

There is specific section of the guidelines that says incarceration is not a reason to decrease child support.  It doesn't make a lot of sense to me, but that's what it says.

I am the one paying child support!! He is sitting in jail collecting and pocketing it. Now is telling me he is going to use it for bail to get out. Never mind I have paid 100% of the expenses along with child support while hes been in there.
Im beginning to think there is no end to this madness until the child reaches 18. Even then there is probably some way I will have to keep supporting this bum!!

I can understand your frustration.  Unfortunately as has been mentioned, the way the guidelines currently read, when parents are put in jail, child support doesn't automatically change.  However, those are just guidelines.  You can always ask the court to rule in your favor regardless.
