After school care
« on: July 08, 2015, 06:41:16 AM »
I have 50/50 shared custody of my two children. When I have my children I pick them up when they get out of school. My EX works later and gets after school care on her days. Should I be expected to pay half of that? Has anyone dealt with a similar issue?

I work the overnight shift and have a nanny that stays with the children when I’m at work. I was fortunate to work it out where she has free rent in exchange for child care. I do incur additional cost in utilities from her, but I have never expected any reimbursement from my spouse for getting a nanny. If the answer to my question is yes and I had to pay my nanny should I then expect to get half of that cost from my spouse?

I have dealt with a very similar issue before.  My order was simply worded that each parent provide child care during their own parenting time.  We both needed periodic child care from time to time, but it made it a lot easier to just say each parent takes care of their own home, period.

So I guess my answer to your question would be no.

Thanks for the response, that only makes sense to me. Unfortunately we all don't think alike, some just think of ways to get more money.
